Owls and Union share the spoils in friendly clash

Action gets serious when the league is scheduled to kick-off on April 7.

A friendly evening match between the Boksburg Rugby Club and the Union Rugby Club ended in a very rare way in the sport of rugby: a draw.

The two sides shared the spoils in a 12-all deadlock as the Owls continued their preparations for the Valke Peregrine League season.

The match was hosted by Union in Kibler Park on March 9.

Last man of the loose trio Deon Smith and left wing Reggie Roux scored for the travelling Owls with number 10 Forrest Roos adding the additional conversion.

Meanwhile, the Owls reserve side succumbed to a tight 5-3 loss – unlike the u-21s, who enjoyed a 36-7 walloping.
