Woodlands golfer off to KZN for SA Amateur champs
Van Deventer is ranked inside the top 20 of the South African Golf Association’s Junior u-17.
Woodlands International College golfer Liam Van Deventer recently received the exciting news that he has been accepted as an entry into the field for the Sanlam SA Amateur Championship qualifier.
The qualifier will be held at the Durban Country Club from February 25 to 26.
This means the 15-year-old did not have to play a qualifying round to make it into the field.
If he makes the cut after the two rounds, he will go on to compete in the Sanlam SA Amateur Championship Match Play, which takes place at the Durban Country Club from February 27 to March 2.
Van Deventer is a +1 handicap and a member at Ebotse Links.
He is coached by Grant Veenstra.
