Metro aims to structure fitness and aerobics clubs

Engagement session is open to all active community aerobics clubs.

Following a successful launch of the Fit For Free aerobics programme three years ago, the Ekurhuleni metro now seeks to formalise fitness and aerobics clubs under one structure.

A fitness and aerobics stakeholder engagement session will take place in Boksburg on February 17, in the council chambers, from 8am.

“The formal structure is envisaged to provide support and guidance on clubs’ operations and activities,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

“This will result in a healthier and more active community.

“We believe it will go a long way in addressing lifestyle-related illnesses in our community.”

Clubs interested in attending must register with Mbali Gumbi as soon as possible by phoning 011 999 3219 or emailing Mbali.Gumbi@ekurhuleni.gov.za
