Two-litre hotrod fans are in for a treat on February 3 when the second round of the SA vs UK 2-litre Hotrods Tour takes place at The Rock Raceway in Brakpan.
The UK’s invitational team will consist of the following drivers: Boxer Jack in car 331, Ian Boumont 713, Jock Camble 26, Keith Martin 994, Bobby Johnson 972, Martin Heath 415, and Dick Hillard 31.
The UK drivers will be going up against some of SA’s finest racing drivers, including Boksburg’s very own Freekie Buitendach Jnr.
Buitendach’s passion for racing began at the old Dunswart circuit that operated in Benoni during the early ’80s. Since then he’s won numerous events in the 2-litre hotrod class, and he is hoping to become SA’s number one this year.
The SA vs UK 2-litre Hotrods Tour will be complemented with a full programme of other oval track disciplines, including some formula N circuit racing.
Gates will be open to patrons from 10am, with competitors taking to the circuit for practice sessions throughout the day. Racing will commence at 4pm.
