Boksburg enjoy a rich vein of form

Boksburg Cricket Club continued their impressive form at home in their Eastern Cricket Premier League clash with Duduza on Sunday, November 19.

The Premier XI combined a collective batting effort with an outstanding bowling performance from Bryce Parsons, who finished with 4/14 in just five overs including a single maiden, for the bonus point win at Prince George Park.

They started the game behind the crease and were led by Brayden Schaper, who top-scored for the home side with 35 runs.

Schaper was followed in the scoring stakes by his captain, Adam Forbes, who knocked 33 runs as the side racked up a total of 202 all out in 49.5 overs.

The target proved more than enough for Forbes and co. as their bowling unit finished off the visitors in 24 overs to hand the home side a comfortable 104-run win – their second win out of three home games, translating to a 67 per cent home win ratio.

Asked if he was happy with his team’s performance, the Boksburg skipper replied: “Very happy. A few of us threw our wickets away when we were set. I’d like a batsman to kick on and make a big number.”

Cody Moses finished as the visitors’ top scorer with 25 runs, while teammate Petros Mofokeng shined with the leather with 3/38 in 10 overs. Their total score was 98.
