WATCH: Getting to grips with arm wrestling tournament

The first round of the RocoMamas Arm Wrestling Championship kicked-off on Wednesday, March 22.

The first round winner was Cornrad Geel from Kempton Park, who also went home with a RocoMamas hamper.

The tournament is set to run for five more weeks, which would total six weeks before the finals, where all six winners from the six preliminary rounds will face off for the biggest prize.

All round-robin rounds and the final will take place at Rocomamas Boksburg.

According to the Vice President of SA Arm Wrestling, Ryno Oosthuizen, a cash prize will also be included in the winner’s package in the final. Oosthuizen is also the chief of all the referees in the country. Having been in the sport for 12 years to date, he’s an eight time SA champion and currently ranked seventh in the world.

Events kick-off every Wednesday at the restaurant from 6.30pm.
