Parkrand family robbed of belongings worth more than R1 million

Boksburg police are on the hunt for an armed gang who robbed a Parkrand family of their belongings worth more than R1 million, on March 18.

The gang held one of the family members at gunpoint before ransacking the house.

They then made off with a number of valuable items and two vehicles, which were parked in the garage.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery.

* In another house robbery, four armed men, driving a white Mercedes-Benz, robbed a Sunward Park couple of belongings worth about R120 000, on March 17.

The victims, a husband and wife, had just arrived home from a gymnasium when the robbers held them at gunpoint and tied them up inside the house.

The thugs stole valuables including a TV, jewellery, handbags, cellphones and an iPad.

No arrests have been made.

* In another incident, the Boksburg police are looking for a gunman who shot an Angelo informal settlement man on March 18.

The victim was rushed to Tambo Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

A case of murder has been opened.
