Help Duane realise his soccer dream

Corinthians Black Aces forward Duane ‘Tank’ Bennett from Parkrand needs the public’s help to realise his dream.

The Robin van Persie International Tournament star is scheduled to take his talents to Spain for the annual Mundialito Tournament, after it was recently confirmed that his club’s U-12 players will be participating in the tournament.

The forward needs financial assistance from the public to turn his lifelong dream into reality.

Bennett’s love for the beautiful game began at a very young age and his ultimate dream is to one day become a professional footballer.

He has won numerous accolades over the few past years, including earning selection for the Robin van Persie International Tournament through SAFA’s Let’s Play programme. He also earned selection for the Easterns A side, which he vice captained – all in 2015. He was recently selected to play in the U-12 Super League and is currently on trial for the U-12 Black Aces Academy.

In order to facilitate the tour, players and their parents have embarked on fund-raising and donor projects, to be able to cover as many of the expenses as possible.

The Mundialito spectacle enters its 24th edition this year and will run between April 8 and 16. It’s one of the more prestigious and highly rated youth tournaments, attracting international teams.

It’s also used as a scouting opportunity by various European teams.

Teams that feature include Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, along with Portuguese powerhouses Benfica and Porto, to name a few.

For more information, you may contact Bennett’s parents, Clyde and Ruchenda, on 083 562 0405 and 076 259 7532 respectively.
