Emmarentia hosts school league canoe race

The age groups ranged from U-8 through to 18 years of age and medals are awarded for each age group in both male and female categories.

Points are awarded to each individual who finishes each race throughout the year, which accumulate towards the year-end total.

The final race of the year will be hosted on November 6 at the Homestead Dam in Benoni, the home of Ekurhuleni Kayak Club. The annual trophies and awards will be presented to those with the highest number of points earned.

Juniors who participate in the league are representative of dams and lakes throughout Gauteng from Emmarentia’s junior canoeing programme.
