Baseball season kicks off

The first games the Boksburg Cardinals Baseball Club’s season kicked off over the weekend of September 24 and 25 with the juniors playing in Benoni and the seniors at home in Boksburg.

The results as follows:

Seniors:

The majors played Randburg Mets and won 14-6 for a great start to the season.

Juniors:

U-9s had a great game against Imps, leading up to the last frame and ending in a draw.

Both the club’s U-12 teams lost to Imps and Randburg Mets respectively. Imps beat the Cardinals red side 15-11 while the Mets beat the Cardinals blue side 12-2.

With the Cardinals not having enough players to make up a full U-15 side, their available U-15 players merged with the Panthers to take on the Red Sox. They beat the Red Sox 19-4.
