Radebe, Mothibi put u-14 Blues on brink of glory

Two second-half strikes from Boksburg's u-14 football side helped them to beat Premier League rivals BCC Supersport 2-0, and to put them on the brink of league glory

The goals came courtesy of attacking duo Shane Radebe and Keamogetswe Mothibi.

Trailing the Blues by five points after 18 rounds, the onus was on the home side to win the 60-minute clash between first and second on the log, but it was, instead, the visitors who put one hand on the trophy with the vital win.

Both outfits have now played 19 rounds of league football, with three more fixtures to go.

The result means that BCC now trail Ernest Seforo’s team by eight points and a largely inferior goal difference – meaning a solo point in Boksburg’s remaining three outings should be enough to secure the title, unless a miraculous disaster happens.

“The match was not easy, they pressured Boksburg a lot in the first-half and then, in the second-half, we came back and put a lot of pressure on the opponents and converted our chances for two goals,” said Seforo.

“I would like to appreciate the Boksburg Football Club chairwoman, Sherrie Keylock, and Ryan Milne, who’s in charge of Boksburg FC coaches.

“The team played with passion and commitment and its yielded good results. I’m happy with how my boys are approaching each game weekly, their performances are amazing. Up the Blues!”
