Perries dominates in United’s Peregrine League dream start

East Rand United made a winning debut in the Valke Peregrine League, with a comfortable 39-20 win against North-West University (NWU) in Vanderbijlpark.

The Reiger Park outfit, who were always in control of proceedings, were led by outstanding fullback Dominique Perries, who scored 24 of United’s total points on the day.

Perries scored one of United’s three tries, in addition to his five penalties and two conversions.

United went into the half-time break 29-17 ahead.

Eighthman Calvin Jantjies and replacement back Duwaan Brown scored the other tries, while Cameron Lentoor, who also came off the bench, added a penalty and a conversion.

United were promoted to the Peregrine League after being crowned the 2015 Valke Merlin League champions.
