New headlining act for Christmas Cracker

The ultimate Christmas Cracker boxing show for 2015, brought to you by Golden Gloves in association with Emperors Palace, will have a new headlining act.

This follows the withdrawal of Kevin Lerena due to a broken hand.

Lerena was set to face Johnny Muller in a rematch of their initial face-off last November which Muller won via a unanimous decision.

The show, however, will still go on as planned tonight at Emperors Palace from 7.30pm (doors open at 6.30pm) with Warren Joubert and Jason Bedeman filling the vacant slot on the card while the rest of the bill remains the same.

Paul Kamanga versus Roman Zhailauov for the WBA Pan African title will now headline the event.

Asked about the setback, Muller said: “It’s disappointing; I was really looking forward to it and would’ve loved to be part of the Christmas Cracker. I’ve been hard at training at a camp with my barn mates.”

Lerena and Muller are expected to meet in February next year.

The Christmas Cracker will be held at the Centre Court.- @SabeloBoksburg
