Matches will continue over the course of the weekend.
Coach André Nel and his Easterns team will require the full backing of their supporters if they are going to advance to the semi-final stages.
They will play Western Province at 6pm tonight, followed by clashes with Zimbabwe on Saturday, September 5, at 1pm, and Northerns on Sunday, September 6, at 1.30pm.
Other matches on Saturday see Western Province squaring up against Northerns at 9.30am and Northerns vs Zimbabwe at 4.30pm.
On Sunday, Zimbabwe will open proceedings for the day against Western Province, at 10am.
