Exciting cricket concept coming to the East

In April, this year, it was announced by Cricket South Africa (CSA) that, as an inaugural curtain-raising developmental tournament to the domestic cricket season, the Africa T20 Cup will take place from September 4 to October 4.

The 16-team event will see 13 South African provincial (semi-professional) sides competing with Zimbabwe, Namibia and Kenya, in four pools, before the semi-final on October 3 and the final on October 4.

Benoni’s Willowmoore Park will host six Pool A fixtures on September 4, 5 and 6, with four of the scheduled matches to be televised.

The Easterns team will play Western Province, Northerns and Zimbabwe in Pool A.

Other matches will be played thereafter, at Potchefstroom’s Senwes Park, Kimberly’s Diamond Oval and Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval.
