Griffiths, who made her stage-debut this year, held off challenges from five initial competitors to win her line-up, before coming out tops against another rival, to be crowned the overall winner.
“I finally got something that I’ve always been wishing for, I received my Pro Card, making me an IBFF Pro,” said the 23-year-old, struggling to contain her jubilation.
“Receiving my pro card was amazing, I’ve been after it for the past two years and now that I’m a professional, it’s time to work even harder, as all my competitions are now overseas, in the world championships.
“I was so overwhelmed when they announced me as the overall winner, I wanted to cry tears of joy, because all the hard work, sweat and sacrifices have paid off.”
Due to her win, Griffiths has also been chosen to represent South Africa in Slovenia for the IBFF World Championships, on June 21. – @SabeloBoksburg
