Mpumalanga staved off challenges from their rivals in the tournament’s A Division, which included Boland, Border, local representatives Ekurhuleni and the North West Province.
Ekurhuleni finished third in the division.
The tournament, which included 11 provincial teams divided into A and B divisions, saw Free State clinch the B Division to earn promotion into the A Division for next year’s showpiece.
Free State beat the Eastern Province, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Southern Cape for top honours in the B Division.
Free State’s promotion will see next year’s edition of the tournament having six teams in the A Division and five in the B Division. – @SabeloBoksburg
