The rain-affected encounter, which was played in three 30-minute sectors, was CBC’s first pre-season match, while their fitter opponents were adding on to the few pre-season matches they’ve already put under their belt.
CBC coach Glenn Brierley, when asked for his thoughts on the team’s first showing of the year, said he is happy with his troops’ showing.
“It wasn’t bad,” he said of the performance.
“We were missing a few players and we have some new players who’ve come in, so the game was more about finding out which guys can play in which position.”
Bruce Pollen gave Boksburg the lead in the third sector, before Eduardo Cassonga put the result beyond doubt with the second goal. – @SabeloBoksburg
