Physical and mental wellness tested at Ekurhuleni Spirit Games
The City of Ekurhuleni recently hosted its eighth instalment of the Spirit Games, for people living with disabilities.
Over 600 people gathered at the Mehlareng Stadium, in Tembisa, to enjoy the fun and games, which are presented in a lightly competitive environment with the aim of promoting self-acceptance and holistic wellness among people living with disabilities.
All those who took part in the games received gold medals for participation.
Some will be selected to form a team to represent Ekurhuleni at the Provincial Games, at the Charl Baard Stadium, in Brakpan, on November 21.
November 3 to December 3 is marked as National Disability Rights Awareness Month.
