Collect numbers for Farrar Park cycle challenge

Farrar Park CPF will hold a Cycle Challenge at 10am on Saturday, November 22.

According to the event-coordinators, Sharleen Bradford and Lindsay Van Staaden, the event aims to raise funds to get security cameras set up in their neighbourhood.

About 103 cyclists will be participating in the event and the youngest is two years, and the oldest is 65.

The challenge is closed for new entries. Participants can collect their numbers and returning forms on Friday, November 21, at 21 Eckstein Road, between 3pm and 6pm.

“We would like this challenge to be an annual event with a view to eventually challenge our neighbouring CPF communities.”

Each lap equates to 800m, and the age group challenges are as follows:

* 3 – 5 years (200m)

* 6-10 years (1.6 km)

* 11 – 15 years (8km)

* 16 – 23 years (12km)

* 24 years and older (16km)

The starting point will be at Beit Avenue, Farrar Park, outside the Scouts Hall, and move towards Fitzpatrick Road (towards the mine) and back towards Beit Avenue (towards the Scouts Hall).
