Weekend’s Absa Premier League matches postponed

All Absa Premiership matches scheduled for this weekend have been postponed in respect of late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa.

According to www.goal.com, the decision was made following various Premier Soccer League (PSL) coaches speaking out that their players were affected by the tragic death of Meyiwa.

“A decision was taken to postpone all Absa Premiership and National First Division (NFD) fixtures scheduled for this weekend,” read a statement released by the PSL on Thursday, October 30.

“This was done following discussions between the League, title sponsors Absa, the broadcast partners and other relevant stakeholders regarding the extraordinary circumstances relating to the passing and funeral of the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain, Senzo Meyiwa.”

Meyiwa will be laid to rest at his Umlazi hometown in Durban on Saturday, November 1. – @SabeloBoksburg
