Oosthuizen, Muller to engage in open training ahead of tournament

Two of the best local boxers, Thomas Oosthuizen, and stable mate Johnny Muller, will hold a public sparring session ahead of their respective big fights at the upcoming Top Guns Boxing Tournament at Emperors Palace next month.

The open training session, which will see former IBO Super Middleweight champion Oosthuizen back on the boxing scene in almost a year, will take place at the Nashua Hammer Gym in Boksburg, and is scheduled to start at 10am on Saturday, October 25.

“The spar is part of the build-up to Tommy’s (Oosthuizen) and Johnny’s (Muller) big November 15 fights,” says Hammer Gym owner and legendary boxer, Harold Volbrecht.

“It’s important fights for both, it’s called the ‘make-or-break’ for both fighters, and I urge the public to come in their numbers to witness the festivities.”

Page Thsesane and Dwayne Combrink will be the day’s opening acts.

Entry for the open spar is free.
