Nevay ready to shine at tennis World Champs
Ekurhuleni seniors tennis player Kathy Nevay has been selected to represent the country for Tennis SA in the Super Seniors World Team Championships being held in Turkey in October.
The championships will see the Northmead resident compete against the world’s top senior players in the 75 plus Queens Cup.
Nevay, an avid player, shone earlier in the year along with teammates when they secured silver for Gauteng during the 25th Anniversary Inter Provincial tournament in Pretoria.
“Tennis truly is the sport for a lifetime,” says Gauteng Seniors chairman and Parkrand Tennis Complex’s Owen O’Neill.
“Kathy is a true testament of this belief and continues to be a source of inspiration to many players of all generations.”
Nevay will be hosting a post Wimbledon English Tea on September 20, from 10.30am at the Northmead Tennis Club. Proceeds will go towards costs incurred by her for the tournament.
