Greyvenstein dethroned at SA Top 20 Street Outlaws

Former SA Top 20 Fastest Street Outlaws number one Isabel Greyvenstein, from Boksburg, was forced to settle for the runner-up spot during the second round of the SA Top 20 at the Nitro Raceway on Sunday, August 3.

Greyvenstein was edged by Simone Steyn to the quarter mile (400m) point.

The high profile race of the day came down to a Skyline GT-R showdown as challenger Steyn whisked through the finish line, securing an epic bumper-length victory.

Steyn, who was driving a silver GT-R, was required to pay R2 000 to trigger the challenge to the number one Greyvenstein.

Greyvenstein, who also owns the Raceway, now sits in second position on the overall Top 20 table, two spots ahead of Manny Marinho, who was round one’s runner-up.

“This was a very interesting race,” said Greyvenstein.

“Manny Marinho challenged me again and I beat him before going on to lose to Simone, but I am sure that I can take my number one spot back in the next event.”

The day also saw Audi RS3 driver Philip Opperman crack the Top 20 following an impressive display in which he won all of his races. He’ll be hoping to improve on his number 20 spot come round three.

Round three will take place on October 12. For more information, contact Greyvenstein on 083 766 6606. -@SabeloBoksburg
