Sensational Rademeyer returns with universal victory

Boksburg bikini bodybuilding sensation Cat Buys Rademeyer was crowned Miss Universe in Seoul, Korea on June 21, adding to her World Championship title she secured in Greece last October.

It was a double-dose of success for the 26-year-old as the win also earned her the prestigious Pro-Card at the National Amateur Body Building World Fitness Federation (NABBA-WFF) event, making her the first ever female fitness model to receive a Pro Card under NABBA-WFF.

The Pro Card, which comes with International Pro Athlete status, will allow her to only compete in Pro line-ups.

“I am so honoured and proud to have brought back the gold for South Africa, as well as receiving my prestigious Pro Card status, which is one of the highest achievements in our esteemed sport,” she says.

“The quality of the athletes was top, truly a superb federation, and a force to be reckoned with.

“I now hold two international titles (2013 NABBA-WFF world champion; 2014 NABBA-WFF universe champion) and I look forward to adding many more under my belt.”

Rademeyer’s attention will now switch to her next event: the Lee Priest Classic in Australia in March next year.

“Thank you to the International NABBA-WFF president, Graeme Lancefield from Australia; Jay Song, the Korean NABBA-WFF president and the rest of the organising committee, what a fantastic success the show was,” she adds.

“Thank you to all my family, friends, supporters and sponsors.”

The newly-crowned Miss Universe champion concluded by extending an exclusive word of gratitude to husband, Peter, together known as “The Fitness Couple”.

“Thank you to my wonderful hubby, your love and support has meant the world to me.” – @SabeloBoksburg
