Rademeyer conquers the world in Greece

Cat Buys Rademeyer underlined her bikini bodybuilding modelling prowess on Saturday, October 19, by walking away with the National Amateur Body Building World Fitness Federation (NABBA-WFF) World Championship title.

The prestigious event was held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The 25-year-old Boksburger owned the stage and won all three rounds of the competition.

Fellow South Africans Carla Beukes and Karen Abolnik finished second and fourth respectively with the two ladies (third and fifth) from Greece completing the top-five.

The first round included Quarter Turns and Comparisons; the second included Routines and the last round included what was a foreign event for Rademeyer: Compulsory Poses.

“The Compulsory Poses were a first for me on stage, but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was more effort which made the experience so much more rewarding,” she enthused.

“All that’s keeping me going by now is my Lord and my hubby, pushing me and supporting me all the way.”

It was Rademeyer’s third gold of the year after winning at the NABBA Provincials and the World Physique Federation (WPF) Classic.

She also won silver at the WPF South African Championships held at Gold Reef City and a bronze from the NABBA Nationals in KwaZulu-Natal, which qualified her for the World Championships in the second largest city in Greece.

The World Championships was the last competition for Rademeyer this year and the model has paid tribute to what is her most successful year to date.

“What an amazing feeling. After five months of competing through the year, six competitions and a few titles, it is great to win the final show of the year 2013. I have also done my sponsors, Supashape, and all our supporters back home proud.”

Radmeyer’s 2014 schedule includes Miss NABBA Universe which she qualified for after her triumph in Greece.

She left Thessaloniki on October 16 and returned to our shores on Sunday, October 27.
