Please, fix our pothole-riddled roads

Charles Bentel, a well-known Boksburg property magnate, writes:

I am writing this letter to bring to your attention a growing problem in the City of Ekurhuleni, in particular the dozens of potholes on the roads in Jansen Park in Boksburg.

The potholes on Edgar and Sydney roads are so dangerous that they cause serious damage to motor vehicles entering and exiting the various businesses, residential complexes, houses and office parks in the area.
Affected complexes and businesses are Villa Angelina Townhouse, Villa Celeste Townhouse, Villa Charlise Townhouse, Benvista Office Park, and Caxton East Rand Newspapers to name a few.

This is an unacceptable situation for the local residents, businesses and landlords who are paying great amounts for rates and taxes, and yet they are battling to get the full value for their hard-earned money.
Despite many efforts made to get the local government authorities to follow-through with their obligation to repair these roads, nothing has happened. Motorists are on a daily basis forced to negotiate potholes and other serious road defects to get to their workplaces and their homes.
I am sure you are aware of the repercussions that these potholes have caused, both in terms of vehicle damage (such as tyre and suspension damage) and in terms of possible personal injury to drivers. It is essential that you act quickly to resolve this issue and fill these potholes as soon as possible.
