We have been duped again

Howard Skeens from Sunward Park writes:

Obviously the majority of voting South Africans feel that massive theft, fraud and corruption running into hundreds of billions of Rand carried out blatantly over years of government rule is not such a big deal.

Nor is the pathetic non-delivery of badly needed services, collapsing infrastructure, poor schooling and rapidly deteriorating health services. They’ve decided to give the ruling party another five years.

This is after listening to Cyril “solemnly” promising that the ANC will fix its huge mess ups and reverse the economic stagnation, growing the economy from 0.8 per cent per annum to a mind blowing two per cent per annum in four years. The start has not been too promising: considering the huge government debt a simple inauguration would have shown the ANC’s commitment to “a new dawn” – R120-million plus would have helped massively in housing or a small start in reducing government’s wasteful expenditure.

Next we have the choice of cabinet. Not easy because who in the government is not tainted with dodgy dealings?

Cyril waits for the euphemistically called ethics committee to make a “decision.”

What for? We know who are the guilty parties but there will be no evidence to prove their misdemeanours. This is merely a show for the loyal cadres that Cyril has chosen a supposed “clean” cabinet that will move SA forward.

The “new” same team will not make the hard but necessary decisions to alter the country’s course to prosperity.

Another wasted five years.
