Corrupt politicians and individuals are pulling the country apart at the seams

Derek Fox writes,

There is strength in unity, one vision, one goal. Where there are two or more visions it leads to division which leads to divorce.

I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of days on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast to reconnect with my goals and what I would like to achieve going forward before the maddening crowds descend on the same place to recharge their batteries.

I was saddened though that not everyone was on the same page or even understands our resources need basic management, like cleaning up after ourselves and if not managed, they will not be resources any longer.

If we are to learn from any international leaders then the one name that comes to mind is Rudolph Giuliani.

Giuliani and his team brought a corrupt and dirty New York back from the brink by focusing on petty crime which led to the decrease in more serious and violent crime.

He also fixed municipal facilities and buildings, citing the city could not ask the citizens to comply if the city’s buildings and facilities were in a state of disrepair. This sounds awfully familiar and close to home.

I cannot recall a time in my life the towns and cities I drive around in have looked worse, I cannot recall a time when I have seen more jaywalking, littering, loitering and urinating in public than I see today.

Walking on the beach and seeing people littering, having to ask them to please to pick up their litter, and sadly, in most cases having to pick up after them and throwing it in a bin within sight and walking distance of where they had littered.

How did we get here, why are we here and how do we go forward when the very innocent – our children – are merely following in their parents’ footsteps?

I live across the road from a primary school that had a Spring carnival. The amount of litter that found its way onto my property from litter being thrown down, saddens me immensely.

South Africa is a wonderful country, but it is being pulled apart at the seams by corrupt politicians and individuals.

Who stands to gain by this? Well, follow the money and you will find your answer. Will we as South Africans become yet another African statistic of a failed democracy or are we already there?

Question is, will we get behind one vision which is to save this country from the politicians, thugs and criminals who have narrow self-centred goals or will we allow them to have their way?

Whether you are a believer or not, your judgement day will come when you have to face your maker and account for your life.

Are you proud of your life, are you part of the solution or are you the problem? It really is a personal thing, for when you lie to yourself, all hope is surely lost.
