“I am not impressed with Boksburg police”

On Tuesday afternoon, October 24, I was involved in an accident on the corner of North Rand- and Rietfontein roads, Boksburg.

The accident happened around 4.40pm.

As soon as it happened, I found the police’s emergency number 10111.

They said they would send the police to the accident scene. I assume it would be police from Boksburg.

Within 15 minutes an ambulance arrived but not the police. Since there were no serious injuries to myself or the driver of the other vehicle, the ambulance men left about 15 minutes later. I commend the ambulance services for such quick response!

After about 45 minutes the police still hadn’t arrived. I phoned their emergency number again. They said they requested police to come to the scene.

After an hour, still no sight of them!

The lady of the other vehicle and I then decided to leave the scene. We took each other’s details and agreed to sort the problem out with our respective insurers.

Where was the police? Didn’t they care much because there were no serious injuries?

How come the ambulance arrived shortly after the accident but the police didn’t even bother?

I’m not impressed with Boksburg’s police! Must I be in a serious condition before they will bother to come to the scene?
