Principal says school is proactive in curbing drugs

Principal of Hoërskool Voortrekker, MP van Heerden, writes:

In response to an article printed in the newspaper dated September 8, page 4 (School raid uncovers dagga, knife), I wish to make a note that our school regularly and repeatedly requests the SAPS and metro police to organise raids.

We live in a community where drugs are easily available, causing an overflow of societal problems which affect the school.

Hoërskool Voortrekker will fight this problem tooth and nail.

The complaints concerning criminal activity were made by me, the principal.

The problems occur around the school and we trust that the SAPS will not only observe the problems, but also act to eradicate them.
