South Africans have forgotten every form of good education

Kevin Luddick from Boksburg writes:

This is a letter of my personal opinion, which I hope will teach, inform, communicate, enlighten and unite my fellow South Africans.

I am black, I am white, I am human, I am South African. I’m all these things, but most of all I’m disappointed, hurt, disgusted and ashamed.

The rest of the world looks to, or rather down on, us with a certain look that screams we are fools, that we lack the ability to function, and incapable of recognising or practising common sense.

We are a society that is filled with people who value and reward people based solely on a lack of intelligence, and hence resulting in behaviors that are dysfunctional and violent, and thus the rule of law becomes even more arbitrary.

It seems the citizens of South Africa have forgotten every form of good education, making us stupid.

Now note how I did not attach a racial group to that statement, and hence do not call it racism as I did not indicate hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

We are simply run by a government that repeatedly makes bad decisions, resulting in worsening conditions for the country, one run by intellectually challenged leaders.

Our democracy has gone wrong through idiocy.

We are in the unfortunate situation where the vote of a person ignorant of even the most basic of facts surrounding an issue or candidate counts exactly as much as the vote of someone who is well-informed about the specific issue or candidate.

Our once proud gold-pumping country has been left wrecked by high crime rates, high electricity prices, high unemployment, high rape counts, high public protests and a high occurrence of Aids.

How can we compare against the world when our list of downfalls carry on?

As Margaret Thatcher said, “I am in politics because of the conflict between good and evil, and I believe that in the end good will triumph.”

I too believe good will lead to our triumph.

That is my ultimate hope for the future of our country.
