Some outage humour to brighten up our lives

Dave Arundale from Sunward Park writes:

I would like to thank Ekurhuleni metro for a fantastic weekend of power outages, after I saved thousands on a trip to the bush and to think I have it all here in Boksburg.

No power for the whole weekend meant boiling water for coffee on a gas stove. Meals were a breeze as everything we ate was cooked on the braai.

Sitting in the dark in the evenings and chatting by torchlight drinking warm beer was a blast. Sundown was especially nice as we saw the silhouette of the neighbours garden and trees against the golden sunset.

When the sunset had not disappeared by 7pm, we found that it was the glow of streetlights from the neighbouring municipality, which had power.

Then it was time to hit the sack to be lulled into sleep by the drone of generators.

Wow Africa, what else can I say that won’t get me locked up.
