Postal delivery disgusts

Edward Coote from Parkdene writes:

I have lived in Boksburg for about 15 years.

I must tell you of my total disgust at the Post Office and the complete abandonment of mail deliveries in this town.

A postal strike started on June 12 and, according to information, the Post Office denied there was any strike despite the fact that I went to the Boksburg postal depot and saw an official letter, attached to the door, saying that an illegal strike had started.

The strike allegedly finished about 10 days ago and, since then, I have had one mail delivery of a few outdated letters and one copy of my subscription to “Time” magazine.

I went to the postal depot this morning, August 20, and found the depot open, with no one on the premises. I walked about in the depot and saw hundreds of plastic baskets filled with mail, but there was no one on the premises, no one at all!

I phoned the mail delivery office and was told another strike started yesterday, August 19!

I am awaiting for countless of magazines. This has incurred hundreds of Rand of non-delivery of post.

I am certain that there are lots of Boksburg residents who have the same problem.

Is there no organisation in the Post Office?
