Mama, please don’t cry

A poem in memory of Taegin Morris.

By Ly-anne Trenton

MAMA PLEASE DON’T CRY

Oh Mama Oh Mama, please don’t cry

I know it’s seems difficult but can you try

I know it was hard to let go of my hand

I saw the pain, the anger, the emptiness upon your face

To me those bad men were, speeding in a losing race

I have to tell you all I’m well, please believe me I left with grace

So please Mama , Please don’t cry

Oh Mama Oh Mama , please don’t cry

Our Father we prayed to daily is for real

He is the Alpha and Omega, and that you can place on a seal

So much beauty, laughter Ma, and all new friends that came just like me

They , black and white , and oh so bright seated upon our Daddy’s knee

I have to tell you, there is no pain, just so much sunshine and rain

So please Mama, Please don’t cry

Oh Mama, Oh Mama, please don’t cry

I have to go now, it is my time to play, but please don’t you forget to pray

There are so many good mommies and daddies here, just like you

Don’t search for me within another, I am sitting in a children’s mansion

Please let the people keep those candles burning, it will give hope to all the tension

I have to tell you I’m really well, growing little tiny wings just like Superman

So please Mama, Please don’t cry
