Locals share their thoughts on women empowerment

Women from Boksburg share their thoughts on women empowerment.

In line with Women’s Month, the Advertiser recently asked some locals to share their thoughts on what they think can be done to help enhance women empowerment.

Here is what they had to say:

Desnay Smuts of Sunward Park, who is an IT specialist: Working towards creating equal opportunities for women in hiring, promotions, and leadership roles. This includes implementing fair policies and practices within organisations.

JB Radebe of Boksburg North, who is a waiter: Engage in mentorship programmes to guide and inspire younger women. Sharing experiences and knowledge can significantly impact their personal and professional growth

Keisha Ramjee of Atlasville, who is a marketing manager: Actively challenge negative stereotypes and unrealistic standards imposed on women. Promote body positivity and authenticity, especially in online spaces, to create a supportive community.

Dayna Brits of Parkdene, who is a financial advisor: Invest in and promote businesses run by women. I believe this not only supports economic empowerment but also encourages female entrepreneurship.

Bongi Mathe of Boksburg North, who is a receptionist: Implement programmes that focus on leadership development, teaching women how to assert themselves in professional and community settings.
