Now, this is service delivery

I know we have a lot going wrong with our municipality and its services, but one thing that doesn’t falter is the newspaper deliveries.I spotted the delivery guy for Griessel Road on my way home, and he was making sure that whatever the time, he delivered his allocated papers today.

He was delayed because of the rain, but he makes sure he still delivers at 20:00.

In the Boksburg CBD, the delivery guy made sure all his papers were wrapped in plastic to avoid being drenched.

Every Tuesday, he puts his pile of newspapers in our offices early in the morning when he starts to avoid them being stolen while doing his rounds. He takes what he can carry, then goes street by street delivering. When he runs out, he fetches another bunch and continues until his entire allocation of papers is delivered.

I don’t think they get enough credit, and I’m not sure if they are employed by Caxton or council, but I want to say they are great and hard workers.
Editor’s note: The newspaper delivery staff are in the employ of Caxton, not the council.
