Water restrictions: Tell us what’s on your mind

Gauteng water utility Rand Water recently announced it will implement stage two water restrictions, which is also affecting the City of Ekurhuleni. The Advertiser asked a few locals what they are doing to save water.

Alta Viljoen: It is extremely important to save water. Hence, I shower with cold water and I close the tap while I’m brushing my teeth.

Samantha Engelbrecht: I live in a flat and we have potent solar panels that heats up water fast. Some of my neighbours also have water tanks to save water.

Alex Kupsamy: To save water I ensure the tap is closed while I’m brushing my teeth. I also water my plants with drain water.

Magriet Marx: I load my dishwasher to its full capacity so I don’t have to switch it on to only wash a few dishes. I also don’t turn a blind eye to water leaks, I report it.

Hettie Robinson: I don’t use a lot of water to wet my garden and I shower as fast as I can to help save this precious resource.
