When will our councillors deal with the problems plaguing our wards?
Shaun Carter, a concerned resident of Boksburg, writes:
Why is it that when election time comes around, our councillors promise us the earth, but once elected they are giving us empty promises?
Why is the railway infrastructure not being fixed and why are the councillors not leaning on the management at PRASSA to do something about the ruined rail infrastructure?
Due to the vandalism of the rail infrastructure, people are now forced to use financially costly modes of transport to travel to work, spending at least double the amount they were paying when using trains. The people who were relying on trains earned way below the breadline.
This metro is failing the poor working class, they are failing their communities and it seems that our councillors are doing nothing to assist in bringing about change.
Our councillors are supposed to hold the metro accountable. But do they really do that? Judging by the state of Boksburg, they are not doing their job. If a job can’t be done, then those councillors must resign and be replaced with competent ones.
We as citizens can remove these incompetent councillors by not voting for incompetence. I call on all tax-paying citizens to share whether their councillors are doing a good job or they just don’t care.
We have the right to good quality services and if the leadership is not up to delivering them, then they must make way for those who will.
