The Advertiser asked a few locals their views on the metro fixing potholes.
Nicky van Wyk: There is definitely something wrong in the council if you look at the state of the roads. The municipality should find a contractor capable of repairing potholes properly.
Lydia Pretorius: The municipality should appoint the right people to repair potholes. I recently heard on the radio of a company that sells an all-in-one pothole mix and is going help fix the roads.
Nomsa Mfuphi: I believe it is a matter of dealing with corruption first because there are people being paid by the council to maintain our roads, which is not being done.
Joao Lopef: Maybe the community can stand together and repair the potholes themselves. If you want something done, do it yourself.
Thabo Mofokeng (Jansen Park): The problem does not seem to be addressed. Why can they not hire young people who are unemployed to help fix of potholes?
