Tell us what you think: Do you feel safe at shopping centres?

As the festive season approaches, the risk of mall robberies increases.

The Advertiser asked a few locals if they feel safe going shopping at centres.

Lydia van Wyk: I feel safe. I’m aware of mall robberies; however, crime is everywhere and won’t stop me from living.

Frans Fourie: I don’t believe it’s safe at all to go to a mall. The festive season is upon us, but there is still no police visibility at the malls.

Nigel Gangane: I heard about mall robberies; however, I still feel safe going to the mall because I never had a bad experience.

Alta Sonnekus: It’s not safe to go to malls. I will rather do my Christmas shopping at smaller shops even though it’s more expensive.

Gerhard Botha: I don’t feel safe at a mall. The police are not equipped enough to protect us against mall robberies.
