#Covid19vaccine: do you want your children to get vaccinated?

Covid-19 vaccination has opened for children between the ages of 12 and 16 on October 20.

Government announced that children in the 12-17-year-old cohort would start getting their Pfizer vaccine jab starting from October 20, and they don’t not need parental consent for Covid-19 vaccination. In the light this, the Advertiser asked a few local parents if they want their children to get vaccinated?

Suzette van Heerden: No I don’t want my children to get vaccinated because we don’t know what the long-term side effects of the vaccine are.

Margaret Bonaparte: I want my children to get vaccinated as it will protect them, however, I won’t force them to get the jab.

Lize Spius: Yes, I would like my children to get inoculated against Covid-19 because it’s safer. My son also plays indoor cricket, and I’m afraid that they will say he won’t be able to participate if he’s not vaccinated.

Faith Ngwenya: I definitely want my children to get vaccinated against Covid-19 because it will protect them against the virus.

Jenny Sinclair: Yes, because I did research and saw that it has benefitted other countries. The sooner everybody gets vaccinated, the sooner we can get back to our normal lives.
