The Advertiser asked a few locals how they feel about the fuel levies that will increase.
Mbonisi Sibana: “I think it's very bad that fuel levies are going up by 27 cents per litre. Now it is going to be even more difficult for people to make ends meet.”
Micaela Immelman: “I think it's extremely bad as it's going to put pressure on motorists and businesses that need to transport goods.”
Lilian Minnaar: “I'm not happy about the petrol levies going up; however, I understand they have to generate funds somehow as individuals will pay less in income tax this tax season.”
Gift Nkosi: “I don't feel that it's fair as we have a fuel manufacturer in South Africa.”
Peter Finn: “It's ridiculous that fuel levies are going to increase with 27 cents per litre. Government is punishing us because they are trying to fill their own pockets.”
