It is important to get your Will in order

Legal matters - Your free legal advice from a local law firm

Death is an unfortunate part of life that causes an enormous amount of pain for those of us left behind.

However, as terrifying as it is to realise that someday you will die, it is comforting to know that if you plan correctly and have a Will in place, your loved ones can be well-looked-after and a lot of stress can be relieved on their part if you have planned your estate correctly.

People unfortunately don’t realise how contentious the division of a deceased estate can become. Family members you never knew existed and people who swear you promised them something out of your deceased estate will crawl up from under the floorboards when your worldly belongings are up for grabs.

This causes great frustration and stress to those who are legally entitled to your deceased estate and can cause extreme delays in the administration and winding up of your deceased estate.

This is why we always recommend to our clients that they draft a Will while still alive so that once they die they do so with the comfort of knowing their deceased estate and families will be looked after once they are gone.

In an attempt to encourage more people obtaining Wills, the Legal Practice Council has instituted a Free Wills Week in which members of the public can visit a participating law firm and have their Wills drafted so as to ensure better estate management and planning upon one’s death.

Tuckers Incorporated proudly takes part in this initiative and invites the public to contact our offices between September 16 and 20 to book your consultation for the purposes of having your Will drafted.
