Splinter Cell: Blacklist Review

Ever since Splinter Cell: Conviction, fans of the series have been waiting to see Sam Fisher in action again, complete with his famous goggles sporting the green hue.

Well, Splinter Cell: Blacklist has finally been released. However, is it a worthy entry in the series? Let’s find out.

Blacklist’s story feels familiar in its execution but still seems to do a pretty good job at creating reasons for Sam to sneak around in the shadows. The plot takes place after the events of Conviction; Sam is working for a PMC with his old friend, Victor Coste and the two get caught up in an attack that takes place in an air force base. A group of people known only as the “Engineers”, claim responsibility for the attack and also announce that it is the first of a number of escalating attacks on the US. The president then puts Sam in charge of a special operations team called Fourth Echelon in order to stop the terrorist threat.

The story is rather good and keeps players progressing through the game in order to find out what the motives are of the “Engineers”. The same can’t be said for Sam however…
