Freeway Park Primary is proud of its athletes

The athletes excelled in the Inter Primary Athletics and the BLAV and District Championships.

Freeway Park Primary School congratulates its athletes on this year’s successful athletics season.

The school’s athletes performed well in the Inter English athletics on January 5 and the Inter Primary athletics for cluster seven on February 1.

During the Inter Primary Athletics, 35 athletes from Freeway qualified to represent the school at the BLAV Championships at Boksburg Stadium on February 16.

The school honoured all the athletes with a medal ceremony on February 8 for flying its flag at these events. Principal Mary-Ann van Eeden handed out the medals

.One of the athletes who stood out in both competitions was Lois Mvita. He scooped three silver medals and five golds.

During the BLAV competition, Freeway Park Primary School attained 12 gold, one silver and seven bronze medals in various events, and 15 athletes qualified for the District Championships on February 23 at Boksburg Stadium.

At the District Championships, the school’s U9 girls’ and U12 boys’ relay teams earned gold and silver medals, respectively. Furthermore, Mvita won a gold medal for the high jump and a silver medal for the long jump.

He went through to the next round, the provincial championships at Boksburg Stadium on March 8 and 9.

Omolemo Mokoana also qualified for the provincial champs for the U13 district relay team.

“The athletes have excelled, and it is extremely satisfying to see the improvement. I’m looking forward to continued brilliant sporting performance,” gushed the principal.
