Astro Turf construction excites CBC

The anticipated completion date of the project is June 30.

Christian Brothers’ College (CBC) is constructing a hockey Astro Turf facility costing R8m.

Headmaster Tobie Craig said the college would install synthetic, sand-dressed, floodlit blue and green Astro Turf over the grass hockey fields in front of the wellness centre.

“This is the first capital building project the college has undertaken in 13 years. The board of governors and I are immensely excited about the project and the massive benefit it will have for the entire CBC hockey community and the college. Projects of this nature are vital to the ongoing development of the college,” he said.

The project began on February 6 with a celebration on the hockey field.

The anticipated completion date is June 30.
Craig thanked the board of governors for supporting and endorsing the project. “There is no doubt in my mind that this will strengthen the bonds between the college and the CBC Old Boys.”
