Students receive qualification

The academy congratulated the students on obtaining their qualifications.

Charlene Matthyser (lecturer), Tanya Parsons (principal), Nokuthula Mgaga (top achiever: beauty therapy), Danél Bester (top achiever: nail technology), René Swarts (overall winner 2024 and top achiever: aesthetic laser therapy), Nikeisha Rudman (top achiever: salon business management) and Cherise Bauermeister (lecturer).

The Beauty and Laser Academy students recently received their formal qualification at a graduation ceremony at Little Nero’s.

The academy’s 18-month programme is a national qualification that includes six beauty therapy subjects, six nail technology subjects, 15 business and salon management subjects, 15 different aesthetic laser treatments and basic piercings (ear and nose).

Principal Tanya Parsons said their youngest student is 16 and the eldest 54, adding that more than half of this year’s graduates are mothers, three being pregnant while studying and one being a mother of four.
