Christmas comes early for SPCA

The SPCA thanks those who supported the cheer fund and made the project possible.

The Boksburg SPCA has begun implementing the projects funded by last year’s Christmas Cheer Fund, which saw it exceed its target and raise R144 653.

The society launched the fund last November, aiming to raise R100 000 by January 15.

Businesses, schools and individuals contributed to the fund, with donations ranging from R50 to R50 000.

On September 9, the SPCA began their kennel re-roofing project. It will revamp all the kennel roofs and should take about three weeks to complete.

“We are delighted to have finally started on these projects,” said the Boksburg SPCA manager, Vicky Finnemore.

Finnemore said work on other projects, such as upgrading the boarding cattery and installing new kennel fronts, will start once the roofing project is complete.

The manager thanked everyone who contributed to the event’s success.
