You made our Winter Wool Drive the best yet!

Community members can make donations until August 31.

In celebration of the success of our 2024 Winter Wool Drive, which wraps up at the end of August, Boksburg Advertiser extends a heartfelt thanks to everyone who knitted, croqueted, stitched or dropped off wool and knitting needles.

“It has been our most successful Winter Wool Drive yet,” said project co-ordinator Elize Kluyts (advertising manager, Boksburg Advertiser).

“Donations have not stopped since we opened the drive in May, enabling us to make a difference in the lives of many underprivileged people through NPOs we donated to.”

Ladies from the Sunward Park Gemeenskapskerk also recently gave the drive a boost with a wonderful donation that included knitted teddy bears and beanies.

One of the church members, Chérie van de Venter, explained that members from the church, the bible study group, the SAVF Kowa Pienaar Tehuis knitting group and Phyl Gillesen from Benoni contributed to the items donated.

“We have a wonderfully generous community and we cannot thank them enough for their ongoing support,” said Kluyts.
